Cofinity-X GmbH was founded in January 2023 as a joint venture between BASF, BMW Group, Henkel, Mercedes-Benz, SAP, Schaeffler, Siemens, T-Systems, Volkswagen and ZF.
- The aim of Cofinity-X is to build the largest collaborative and open data network of partners in the automotive industry ecosystem for value creation and sustainability along the entire value chain.
Requirements for the Data Network
Cofinity-X is responsible for the operation and provision of corresponding services that enable all participants in the automotive value chain to exchange data securely and confidently.
The Catena-X consortium has developed various services for the operation of the data room up to a defined level of maturity. As the operating company, these reference implementations must be analyzed and further developed to operational maturity.
Meeting Standards and Criteria
The mentioned services fall under business applications and are specialized solutions tailored to address specific business challenges, such as data-driven mapping of the value chain for end-to-end component traceability.
To offer services on the Catena-X marketplace, they must comply with defined standards and criteria to ensure compatibility with other participants. Certification as a Catena-X solution is mandatory.

doubleSlash was involved in assessing the maturity level, deriving the necessary measures for operationalization and developing the services so that they would be available to all participants by the communicated go-live date.
