Connected cars – the mobility of the future

Intelligent networking for holistic driver support

We’ve been working with the BMW Group for several years now on expanding their ConnectedDrive services. Our goal is to provide drivers with optimum support through continuous access to essential in-vehicle information and intelligent mobility services.

The telematics platform developed for this purpose enables agile service development and flexible service deployment by almost completely decoupling the backend systems from the hardware-embedded vehicle development. The ConnectedDrive platform includes infotainment elements, intelligent route calculation and a multitude of other services for connected mobility which holistically assist and support the driver.

ConnectedDrive offers the driver value-added services both in the vehicle and on mobile devices. We have developed comparable services for other customers, such as Postfinder for Deutsche Post AG and various mobile services for Deutsche Telekom.

A secure and flexible high-load system

An essential part of the project was migrating existing, externally hosted backend components to an in-house solution.
It was also necessary to communicate with stakeholders from BMW’s vehicle development, IT, sales and marketing departments about key milestones.

The system also required a security and server infrastructure capable of withstanding high-load operations. The project management team was responsible for planning the rollout across international markets. This was a project where we were able to contribute our expertise at each phase of the software development lifecycle.

BMW i Services – mobile services for a holistic driving experience

The launch of BMW i vehicles has improved and expanded mobility services for car and smartphone.
We’ve already designed various remote functions for the BMW ActiveE Concept Car that can be used via mobile phone – such as air conditioning, heating, range or display of charging stations in the vicinity.

We’re the IT partner for BMW’s ChargeNow, ParkNow, intermodal routing and interactive range display services for i vehicles, and have been involved from conception to rollout.
