JobRad Concept Promotes Employee Health at DoubleSlash

The "JobRad" company bike concept has now been in place at doubleSlash for two years. The first colleague pedaled his JobRad in August 2015. A lot has happened since then. The JobRad has been well received by employees and there are now 29 proud JobRad owners at doubleSlash. And the trend is still rising.

The JobRad principle is simple: the employee selects the bike of their choice from a JobRad dealer. As the lessee, the company concludes a contract with the employee which transfers the bike leasing to the employee. The bike is then ordered via JobRad. The leasing period is three years—after which the bike is purchased by the employee at its residual value. This is usually 20 to 40 percent cheaper than buying a bike privately.

As part of our social benefits, the JobRad is a well-used component. Whether mountain bike, racing bike or e-bike—those who come to work on their JobRad are not only environmentally friendly, but also start the working day fresh and alert.

"Promoting health is an important topic at doubleSlash. Because as the saying goes: 'A healthy mind in a healthy body'. Especially in typical office jobs like ours in the IT industry, exercise is important to avoid problems such as back pain," says Sandra Ströhle, responsible for health management at doubleSlash. 

We therefore support employees' sporting activities with various campaigns. For example, we offer a weekly running group. doubleSlash also participates in many regional sporting events and company events. For example, the B2Run in Munich, the Fischbach half marathon, the AOK company run in Friedrichshafen and the Megathlon in Radolfzell. Everyone who takes part receives a doubleSlash jersey in addition to the entry fee.

Bicycle campaign provides additional incentive

To further promote a healthy lifestyle among doubleSlash employees, the company is currently running an internal cycling campaign. Every doubleSlash employee who wants to take part in the campaign can track the kilometers they cycle using a bicycle computer sponsored by doubleSlash. In the period from May to August, the aim is to collect as many bicycle kilometers as possible—whether on the way to work or in their free time. The employee with the most kilometers wins. There is also an award for the team with the most kilometers.
