The innovative concept has been a hit - doubleSlash has already received five JobRad orders. Colleague Michael Rotter was the first to use his brand new racing bike back in August. Since then, he has been cycling to work almost every day. "doubleSlash is a sporty and modern company. We have weekly running meetings, colleagues organize themselves to go snowboarding and cycling and we sponsor running events. I think it's great that my hobby - cycling - is now also supported and that I can get a bike cheaply through my employer. The concept is good for the environment and my health and I'm also faster than by car. For me, everything speaks in favor of cycling to work."
The principle of company bikes via the provider JobRad is simple: the employer concludes a framework agreement with JobRad that regulates the leasing conditions. Employees can then choose the bike of their choice from a JobRad dealer - whether it's a mountain bike, racing bike or e-bike. The company, as the lessee, then concludes a contract with the employee. This transfers the bike leasing contract to the employee. After three years of leasing, the bike can be purchased by the employee at its residual value. This is usually 20 to 40 percent cheaper than buying the bike privately.
In addition to this cost advantage when buying, the financial burden of the leasing installments is lower. This makes it comparatively easy to purchase a higher-quality bike, such as an e-bike, at a reasonable price. "For us, JobRad is a needs-based social benefit that we have implemented as part of our health program. There are many cycling enthusiasts at doubleSlash - so it made sense to try out this model. The JobRad is independent of the route, can be used for private journeys and promotes exercise and therefore the health of our colleagues," says Leonie Hlawatsch, Head of HR at doubleSlash.
