5000 euros for the promotion of IT projects and infrastructure
The donation from doubleSlash will support projects in the area of IT promotion. This includes, for example, equipping infrastructure with PCs, tablets or interactive whiteboards. The young people should be "made fit for the primary labor market," says Christian Braun, Managing Director of the BBW. Dialogue with industry is important here, as IT professions are still a "relatively young but at the same time very up-and-coming and future-oriented area" at BBW, says Braun. "We also have to ask ourselves new questions: What does digitalization mean for BBW? What needs meet what services? Dialogue and cooperation with the private sector are crucial here."
Insight into a modern IT company
When the cheque was handed over on site, the young people were also given an insight into everyday working life and the premises at doubleSlash. Markus Wingler, who also started his training as an IT specialist at doubleSlash, presented various projects from the doubleSlash working environment and talked about his day-to-day work. He was immediately bombarded with questions: Which programming languages do you use? What database is behind a networked vehicle?
During the subsequent tour of the company, the BBW trainees got an impression of what the working environment at doubleSlash looks like. A look into the server room and the offices, past the table football table and the library, where all kinds of knowledge about various technologies is piled up. "I've never seen so many Java books in one place," says Dennis Schaible. And Kilian Drischel "could well imagine working like this."
Longer-term cooperation conceivable
A longer-term cooperation between doubleSlash and the BBW is also conceivable, e.g. through internships for trainees with the aim of integrating them directly into everyday working life and giving them prospects for the future. "We have found that the trainees' motivation increases as a result of the internships at the companies," says IT trainer Daniel Scheffhold.
And this is where doubleSlash can make an optimal start. "We are a company that attaches great importance to promoting young talent and having fun at work. Many of our current permanent employees started here with an internship or a thesis," says HR Manager Nadine Schiffmann. We are open-minded and are happy to explore new avenues." BBW trainees spend several months doing internships in companies during their second and third year of training
"The young people bring new impetus to our company. We want to take our luck into our own hands - and hopefully that of the young people too," says Andreas Strobel, Managing Director at doubleSlash.
