Virtual Topping-Out Ceremony for the Software Innovation Center (SIZ)

21. April 2021 | Wednesday

From 2022, the software of the future will be developed at 300 modern workstations in an area of 5,000 square meters.

Our Software Innovation Center (SIZ) continues to take shape. It is already clear to see that a modern building will soon be located here, where we at doubleSlash will find a new home in Friedrichshafen.

Corona brings us a virtual topping-out ceremony

Due to corona, we were unfortunately unable to hold a traditional topping-out ceremony. However, a few of our colleagues from the "SIZ project team" were able to take a first look at the shell of the building on site—in compliance with hygiene measures, of course. "It was important to us that our colleagues were actively involved in the SIZ project," says Patrick Schmerbach, Project Manager for the new building and Associated Partner. That's why the wishes and requirements of the employees were asked about before the project started and were largely incorporated into the design and planning of the new building.

For all those who were unable to be on site, we have made a video of the tour. So we can at least spread a little virtual topping-out atmosphere:

Many highlights await: Atrium, modern workspaces and roof terrace

"We are delighted that the SIZ will allow us to bring all employees from Friedrichshafen, who are now spread across various locations, back into one community office. For me, the multifunctional atrium will be the highlight of the building—here we all come together and create space for encounters," says Managing Director Andreas Strobel.

Founder Konrad Krafft is looking forward to the view from the roof terrace. "But also the meeting and work rooms, which promise a pleasant working atmosphere."
For project manager Patrick Schmerbach, the meeting areas in the building are unique. "We will have quiet zones for concentrated work and meeting areas for joint activities. This will bring a new quality to our work."

With our landlord Prisma, we are relying on the tried and tested

We are building together with Prisma, our previous landlord, whose buildings (CPF 1, CPF 3 and SEESTATT) are already home to us today.
Managing Director Stefan Nachbaur remembers: "In 2007, you were one of the first partners of 15 companies that started here at the CPF. So of course I'm delighted that you're continuing to grow here at the Competence Park. Congratulations on the virtual topping-out ceremony—I look forward to many more years with you."
