The IT company, headquartered in Friedrichshafen, called for participation in the 2023 running and cycling campaign, in which kilometers were collected for a good cause and for their own fitness. As part of its occupational health management (OHM) program, the company is supporting the Kinderstiftung Bodensee children's foundation this year. This campaign not only serves a charitable purpose, but also underlines the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle.
From April to October 2023, doubleSlash employees took part in the fundraising campaign, which has now almost become a tradition. Jan Zimmermann, who is jointly responsible for occupational health management at doubleSlash, emphasizes that this campaign is intended to set an example for an active and healthy lifestyle, but above all to underline the shared team spirit. The common goal is the focus: whether on the bike, the jogging track or on a hike.
Running and cycling campaign supports children in need
Around 2.5 cents were donated to the Lake Constance Children's Foundation for every kilometer run. 88 committed employees from 22 teams covered a total of 107,684 kilometers—be it on their way to work, in their free time, on vacation or together as a team. This commitment was extremely successful: together, doubleSlash covered a distance of more than two circumnavigations of the globe.
"Every year, we use the cycling campaign to do something good," adds Simon Scheutwinkel, one of the people responsible for BGM at doubleSlash. "In a joint vote in which all doubleSlash employees were able to take part, this year's choice was the Kinderstiftung Bodensee. In total, generous donations were made, which were ultimately rounded up to an impressive 2,700 euros. We would like to use this amount to promote equal opportunities for children."
Kinderstiftung Bodensee—Education and participation for all children
The Kinderstiftung Bodensee, which benefits from this year's campaign, has been working since 2011 to ensure that all children, regardless of their social, cultural or religious background, have opportunities for education and participation. It is a trust foundation under the umbrella of Lebenswerk Zukunft—Caritas Foundation in the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart. Thanks to generous donations and the commitment of doubleSlash, the foundation can continue its important work and give children a better future. The children are supported in various areas, including education, culture and sport. They also provide excursions, workshops and leisure activities to support the children in their development.
