Virtual run and a slightly different trophy
At the end of 2020, the annual "TechDays" of the Häfler software company doubleSlash took place completely remotely for the first time. At the employee event, workshops are organized by colleagues for colleagues and space is provided for a lively exchange of ideas. "Many things were different due to the corona-related situation—Normally we offer an extensive evening program ranging from games to night hikes. This time we organized a virtual run," says Nina Frei, responsible for health management at doubleSlash. Anyone who wanted to could take part and run the 5.5 kilometers for a good cause. The prize: the winners decided what a donation in the name of doubleSlash would be used for.

Sustainability in the form of education
The winners Simon Kitzberger, Marc Mai, Marco Bratz and Jonas Kaltenbach were unanimous in their choice: EUR 2,000 will go to the Hands on Technology e.V. association. This association teaches children and young people technical skills at an early age. "Technology and its progress is omnipresent and has become a fundamental part of our everyday lives. As we are convinced that education is the most sustainable form of value creation, we definitely wanted the money to end up in the education sector. Because of our job and our affinity with IT, we also wanted to support precisely this area and give young, creative minds the opportunity to let off steam," explains Simon Kitzberger.

And this attitude is also well received by the association: "We are super enthusiastic about the commitment shown by doubleSlash and are delighted with the support," says Susanne Voigt, Managing Director at Hands on Technology e.V.

More about Hands on Technology e.V.
