"Corona has changed the lives of many children dramatically - education in particular has been turned completely upside down. It has now become clear what added value digitalization can bring to our education system. We now need to bring these benefits to the children as quickly as possible and across the board," says Veronica Florian, Head of Marketing at doubleSlash and herself a mother of two. Based on the conviction that education is the most sustainable form of value creation, the software company is making a donation of EUR 5,000 to the Education Foundation and a joint appeal for donations for a diverse range of educational opportunities for children and young people with equal opportunities.

Educational opportunities for all

The coronavirus crisis has shown that Germany still has great potential when it comes to digital learning. How should children who do not have access to electronic devices for homeschooling be taught at home? According to the 2019 JIM study on media use among young people (aged between 12 and 19), two percent of those surveyed do not have a computer or laptop—in Germany, we would be talking about around 88,000 pupils in grades 9-13.1 With the help of the donor-funded Stiftung Bildung, one of the aims is to provide all pupils with online access to emails, teaching materials and learning platforms at home. Regional teams also have an open ear for unforeseen challenges at daycare centers and schools and ask about needs. At doubleSlash, it is part of the corporate philosophy to work together in solidarity to provide a good education for the next generation. "Education is particularly close to our hearts," explains Konrad Krafft, founder and Managing Director of doubleSlash. "With your corporate donation for education, doubleSlash is one of the pioneers in our society, because anyone who invests in education today is thinking about young people and the future of our society. Many more people and companies need to donate to education," says Katja Hintze, CEO and founder of the Stiftung Bildung donation organization, thanking all colleagues at doubleSlash.

With a donation, doubleSlash is leading the way and setting priorities in times of the pandemic. You too can make a donation to Stiftung Bildung for fair educational opportunities for all.

Stiftung Bildung is a non-profit foundation with legal capacity under civil law based in Berlin. It is committed to improving educational conditions for children and young people and strengthening civil society involvement in the field of education.
The foundation sees itself as a grassroots organization for civic engagement in schools and kindergartens. It was founded in September 2012 with the aim of improving the work of daycare and school support associations through coordination, advice, exchange and the provision of seminars. In the background is the strengthening of civic engagement in this area. It emerged from the Germany-wide network of school and pre-school support associations and their associations, such as the Bundesverband der Fördervereine (BFD) and the Bundesverband der Kita- und Schulfördervereine (BSFV).
