For the doubleSlash team, the win was completely unexpected, as the application was initiated by the employees—and without the management knowing about it.
The two Managing Directors Andreas Strobel and Konrad Krafft accepted the award in person at the Lake Constance Business Forum in the Graf-Zeppelin-Haus in Friedrichshafen. It is particularly impressive that doubleSlash was able to prevail against almost two dozen competitors who also impressed with strong digital strategies. "I really didn't expect this," admits Managing Director Konrad Krafft with a laugh on stage as he accepts the award. "When I found out a few days ago that we had been nominated and won, I was completely surprised. The fact that our employees initiated something like this shows what a great team we are." For Krafft, this award is not just a success for the company, but above all a triumph for the entire team, who work together on the future day in, day out.
What makes doubleSlash a Digital Champion
The jury that decided on the award consisted of RWU professors Dr. Andreas Pufall and Dr. Steffen Jäckle. Both are not only scientific advisors for the award, but also the idea generators for the "Digital Champion". Their aim was to recognize companies from the region that stand out due to their focus on digitalization and innovation. With their expertise in business and digitalization, Pufall and Jäckle defined clear criteria for evaluating the companies: Innovative strength, customer benefits and corporate culture were at the forefront.
- Customer benefit as a matter of the heart: For doubleSlash, the customer always takes center stage. "We don't develop solutions for the sake of technology," says Krafft. "It's always about understanding the people behind it—what do our customers really need? Only then can we help them to sustainably improve their processes." This uncompromising focus on customer needs convinced the jury.
- Courage to innovate: doubleSlash has established itself as a pioneer in the fields of artificial intelligence, data analysis and the Internet of Things (IoT). "We are never afraid to break new ground," explains Krafft. "Sometimes it's small steps, sometimes bigger, but it's always about moving forward." With products such as the Digital Key, which replaces physical car keys with digital solutions, the company shows how it is actively shaping the future.
- A culture of cohesion and further development: "For us, the community comes first," emphasizes Krafft. "It's the people who make up our company. It is important to us that everyone shares the same values and works together to become better." The jury recognized this strong corporate culture, which is characterized by mutual trust and the motivation to continuously improve.
"Just do it" as the secret to success
For Krafft, the award is confirmation that doubleSlash has taken the right path. "We have never waited for the perfect solution. We just get started, take small steps and learn along the way. It's not always about doing everything perfectly—but about doing it at all. Quality is always at the center of everything we do. It is the central building block that drives us and ensures that even small steps lead to big successes."
