"Sport is democratic"
This year marks the second time that the "Live Democracy" run has taken place. The main organizer of the Fischbach half marathon, Harald Sewcz, emphasizes that sport is very democratic: "In sport, it doesn't matter what color your skin is or what nationality you are. All that matters is who runs in front of you and who runs behind you". The focus is on the sport. The course covers 3.7 km and there is no entry fee or money for the running shirt.
The see² also offers the opportunity to become the overall winner of the running cup series again this year. In 2019, only two races have to be contested: Fischbach on April 06 and Hagnau on July 20. The winner of these two races can win great prizes.
doubleSlash runners will also be at the start again
In addition to sponsoring, doubleSlash will again be represented by numerous runners at the Fischbach half marathon. One of them is Markus Hepp, who is taking part in the half marathon for the sixth time. As an experienced runner, he appreciates both the timekeeping and the professional course organization in Fischbach. "The course in Fischbach offers great variety thanks to its diversity and, due to the high number of participants, you don't run alone and are therefore additionally motivated," says Markus Hepp. Last year, he achieved a personal best at the half marathon in Fischbach with a time of 1:40 h, which he would like to beat this year.
Volunteers and marshals are always welcome
A lot of helpers are needed to organize such a sporting event. Especially on the day of the event itself, helpers are needed in the form of marshals. "Many established helpers are gradually retiring and we are on the lookout for new recruits so that we can continue to successfully organize the sporting event in the coming years," says Harald Sewcz. Membership of TSV-Fischbach is not a prerequisite—anyone can help. Anyone interested can get in touch here.
