The potential of artificial intelligence is undisputed among experts. There is also no doubt that AI will bring about significant social and economic changes. One of the major challenges is to weigh up the opportunities and risks and to manage the development and application of AI technologies in a "people-centered and people-serving" way, as the German AI Association puts it.
"This is also a central concern of doubleSlash," explains Konrad Krafft, founder and managing partner of doubleSlash. "Artificial intelligence holds enormous potential for innovation in practically all areas of our lives. This potential must be exploited. However, this also entails a great responsibility, because ultimately we must all be interested in ensuring that AI always serves people."
doubleSlash has been using AI for many years to optimize industrial processes –, for example by using machine learning methods for predictive maintenance applications. The software company also works for well-known OEMs in Stuttgart and Munich.
AI solutions from doubleSlash improve performance
"With machine learning and AI, we can gain insights from empirical data and discover patterns that can be used to improve future decision-making processes," explains Danny Claus, AI expert at doubleSlash. The result is a working environment that proactively organizes and optimizes itself. "This improves the company's overall performance and increases its competitiveness."
AI solutions from doubleSlash are used, for example, to
- Predict the service life and energy output of wind turbines,
- closely align maintenance intervals in factories with actual requirements or
- to train cars for autonomous driving.
"Recently, the topic of 'data-driven decision making' has also become increasingly important for companies," says Danny Claus. "This involves using automated analysis processes to generate knowledge from large volumes of data and use it to create value within the company."
Cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS are used for this purpose and combined with big data technologies and machine learning methods to optimize decision-making processes in a data-driven way. These methods are used, for example, to predict the next maintenance interval for wind turbines or to visualize after-sales data in the automotive industry.
This is an area in which doubleSlash has acquired in-depth expertise. Danny Claus: "We now offer many workshops and other events in which we share our expertise with companies and explain how they can use 'Data Driven Decision Making' for themselves." KI Bundesverband continues to grow
The KI Bundesverband was founded in spring 2018. Today, it already has more than 160 innovative companies, SMEs, start-ups, scientists and other experts as members. What they have in common is their central business or research purpose: the development and application of technologies based on artificial intelligence while taking ethical values into account.
One of the association's central goals is to actively contribute to the positive development of AI. On the one hand, this involves strengthening the competitiveness of German AI companies in the international environment and establishing Germany as an attractive business location for the AI ecosystem. But it is also about managing the use of AI technologies in such a way that people's interests are always safeguarded. Among other things, the members of the association are therefore committed to the fundamental European values and undertake to comply with the ethical standards defined in the association's AI seal of approval.
