Cycling, Running, Donating: Almost 100,000 Kilometers in the doubleSlash 2025 Campaign

11. December 2025 | Thursday

96,822.46 kilometers—enough to circle Lake Constance around 372 times. This year, the employees of doubleSlash covered this impressive distance together on their bikes or in running shoes. The Friedrichshafen-based software company has been organizing this sporting initiative for many years. Employees regularly take part in collecting kilometers and thus not only improve their own fitness, but also strengthen cooperation within the company.

About the competition
Between April and October 2025, employees competed against each other in organizational teams with the aim of clocking up as many kilometers as possible. In addition to sporting ambition, motivation was also key. "It's not just about counting kilometers, but also about creating routines, sticking with it and having fun together," explains Christian Schmid, who covered the most kilometers on his bike this year.

How motivation can be maintained in the long term was also the topic of this year's health talk at doubleSlash. The focus was on discipline, daily routines and, last but not least, small incentives: all factors that play an important role in occupational health management (OHM).

Occupational health management (OHM) at doubleSlash
The cycling and running event is an integral part of doubleSlash's comprehensive occupational health management. Every year, it proves anew that it is much easier to overcome the "inner bastard" in a team.

But BGM goes far beyond sporting activities:

  • Workshops on nutrition and mental health offer knowledge and tools for a healthy everyday life.
  • Physical fitness courses strengthen stamina and mobility.
  • Medical check-ups help employees to keep an eye on their own health in the long term.

The result is a holistic concept that supports employees in different areas of their lives.

Together for a good cause
As in previous years, every kilometer collected in 2025 was converted into a donation. The distribution was decided by the employees themselves: This year, the animal shelters "Tierheim Friedrichshafen", "Tierheim München gGmbH" and the "Tierschutzverein Stuttgart und sein Tierheim" will benefit

The donation totaling €2,550 was divided equally and supports the important work of the animal shelters, which are committed to the welfare of animals in the region.
