Encory GmbH was founded in 2016 as a joint venture of BMW Group and ALBA Group. Encory facilitates a closed-loop product cycle, identifying parts that qualify for reuse and remanufacturing in a regulated process.

The Encory Dealer Frontend is an internationally used, cloud-based web application that supports BMW dealers and warehouse facilities worldwide in the remanufacturing process.

Short development cycles for improved speed-to-market

The Encory Dealer Frontend system was developed while the company’s business processes were still being set up. An agile project approach with short development cycles meant that it was possible to design the system hand-in-hand with the processes to achieve perfect coordination.

All design decisions followed usability principles. The goal was for dealers to find their way around the system with a minimum of training, and any feedback was integrated directly into the development process.

The use of cloud technology based on the Microsoft Azure platform enabled Encory to work without the limitations of physical infrastructure. This allowed them to get the system up and running quickly while still ensuring international availability.

In cooperation with doubleSlash, the web application was developed and rolled out within a year, first to Spain and Portugal and then to larger markets such as Germany and France. Further rollouts for other international markets are planned in the near future.
